Zukoh Set

Traditional powder perfume with wood case

Zukoh is an extremely thin and smooth high-quality incense powder. It is made with the same natural ingredients as Japanese incense: sandalwood, cinnamon, benzoin, borneol and others.

The container or zukoh ire is made of cherry wood. Its small size allows you to have it at hand whenever you want to relax during a study session, a ceremony or during a long journey, such as a flight or a train ride.
It is decorated with a netsuke, a small sculpture that, attached to the belt of the kimono, allowed the zukoh ire to be hung at the waist.
Netsuke were simple and useful pieces that, from the 17th century onwards, evolved into sophisticated works of art sought after by collectors. This wooden netsuke is shaped like a small gourd.

An ancient ceremony

Japanese Buddhist monks have used it since ancient times as an offering or to perfume themselves, as it is believed to purify body and mind.
They applied it directly to the skin, sprinkling the powder on the palms of their hands and then delicately dusting it on their heads and clothes before ceremonies, meditation and, in the tradition of calligraphy, as purification prior to copying sutras.

How to use it?

Exquisitely aromatic and relaxing, simply pour a small amount of powder into the palm of your hand and gently apply it to any pulse point, behind your ears or on your wrists.
Throughout the day, your body heat will naturally activate its subtle aroma, creating a soft scented veil.
It is recommended for use during meditation, yoga, when wearing a kimono, or whenever you want to calm and refine your body and mind.

Container: It has a screw-on lid to open so you can fill it with zukoh. Refill it and close it again.

Use: Remove the side cap, tap the container gently until the desired amount of incense falls into the palm of your hand and close it again.
Rub the powder between your palms and apply it or sprinkle it delicately as explained above.
