Collection: Resins

These all-natural aromatic resins in grain are essential ingredients for the manufacture of the most luxurious perfumes.

They are burned over charcoal for purification and protection rituals. Each gum has specific properties and serves different purposes.

Resin Incense & Natural Aromatic Resins

Resin incense is the purest and most ancestral way to enjoy nature's aromas. Unlike conventional sticks, aromatic resins are direct extracts from trees and plants that retain all their aromatic and therapeutic properties. At TierraZen, we carefully select each incense resin to offer you an authentic experience, 100% natural and free from synthetic additives.

Guide to choosing and enjoying your incense resins

Whether you are looking for raw incense for purification rituals or natural grain incense blends for meditation, each resin has a unique vibration:

  • Frankincense (Church Incense): The most traditional essence for creating an atmosphere of peace and solemnity.
  • Three Kings Incense: Ideal for energy cleansing and connecting with liturgical traditions.
  • Copal and Myrrh: Powerful resins widely used for protection and introspection.
  • Japanese Incense (Shoko): A delicate blend of woods and spices, perfect for recreating the atmosphere of Zen temples.
  • Sumatra Benzoin: Known for its sweet, balsamic aroma that helps calm the mind.

How to burn resin incense correctly?

Lighting natural incense grains is a simple ritual, but it requires the right accessories to enjoy the fragrance without excessive smoke:

  1. Prepare the incense burner: Use a heat-resistant vessel. We recommend filling the base with marble chips or ash to protect the burner and allow the charcoal to "breathe".
  2. Light the charcoal: Hold a charcoal tablet with tongs and light it. Place it on the sand and wait until it glows (turning greyish or white on the outside).
  3. Add the resin: Carefully place 2 or 3 frankincense grains or your favourite resin blend on the charcoal.
  4. Regulate intensity: Being pure resin, it creates a concentrated aroma.
If you prefer less smoke, place the resin on the outer edge of the charcoal or add a pinch of ash over the tablet before placing the grain to ensure a slower burn.

Everything you need to know about Resins

What is resin incense and what is it used for?

Resin incense is the hardened sap (sometimes called raw incense or stone incense) extracted from various trees. It has been used for millennia for space clearing, meditation, religious practices, and to enhance emotional well-being thanks to its natural essential oils.

How to burn resin incense without too much smoke?

The key is the quantity. Since it is a natural resin, it is highly concentrated; placing just two or three incense grains on the charcoal is enough. If you prefer a slower burn with less smoke, you can use screen incense burners (adjustable burners) or place a thin layer of sand over the charcoal before adding the resin.
