Excellent Kobunboku Incense - Agarwood, Medium Box

This incense is a mixture of Kalimantan agarwood, sandalwood, cinnamon, clove, borneol, star anise and medicinal herbs. Its rare and exquisite aroma is very popular in Zen meditation because it generates peace and mental clarity.

Long ago in China, during the reign of Emperor Wu of Jin, the Plum Blossom tree planted in the palace court bloomed when the Emperor enjoyed literature, and wilted when the Emperor neglected literature, which led to nickname the plum tree Kobunboku as the tree that loves literature. Ko means nice, Bun means elegant, Boku means wood or tree. Kobunboku refers to the plum blossom, a very precious ingredient of Japanese incense, which is known as the flower of peace. Tokusen means 'excellent'. The traditional aromas of the Kobunboku line are very popular in Japan.
