Koh-Musubi Wisteria - Smokeless incense
Whenever the wind blows, the bunches of wisteria blossom sway like the sleeves of a kimono, spreading their beautiful fragrance. This incense has a sweet and relaxing aroma and emits very little smoke.

Musubi, which means union in Japanese, refers to those moments of deep connection when the hands and the heart are in unison, when the action and the accompanying feeling are consistent with each other. That is when we find true inner peace.

This large box is ideal if you burn incense regularly. Its lovely design also makes it an original fragrant gift! The number of sticks is approximate and may vary depending on the batch.

WHY JAPANESE INCENSE?

A SENSORY AND SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE

The use of incense can be traced back over 5,000 years ago in ancient Egypt and Nubia. It crossed ages and cultures and was introduced in Japan in the 6th century with Buddhism. It first filled the temples with fragrance, before enchanting the imperial court and the refined circles of society to become a true art form: Kōdō, the “Way of Incense”, one of Japan's greatest traditions. Today incense is used all around the world as part of a universal aromatic culture of harmony and well-being.

  • Japanese incense does not contain an inner bamboo stick: it is entirely made up of fragrant substances.

  • Its refined aroma is for those who enjoy subtle and elegant fragrances.

  • It produces less smoke than other incenses, and some emit almost no smoke at all.

  • Its base is tabu bark blended with other finely ground substances or essential oils.

  • Perfect for meditation, reading, or simply a moment of stillness and connection.

THE MAGIC OF INCENSE

TO MOVE, TO CALM, TO COMFORT

Incense has the power to move the human spirit, to empathize and to make us live in the present. Calming spirits. Reviving memories. Transcending time and space. Transforming environments. Expressing identity. Conveying emotions. They promote inner peace, free the spirit, relax us, keep us company and comfort the heart. Lighting
a stick of incense is a source of inspiration.

Depending on the fragrance you choose, its aroma will help you relax or concentrate; it will create a warm and welcoming atmosphere to share with friends and family, or a serene atmosphere for moments of introspection. Some fragrances you will enjoy in the morning, others in the evening. Today, incense is used all over the world as part of a universal culture of harmony and well-being.

Proud of its artistry, aesthetics and sensitivity, perfected over 450 years, Nippon Kodo creates incense made from carefully selected raw materials that no one else in the world can offer.

Todo lo que necesitas saber sobre Koh-Musubi Incense - Wisteria, Large Box

What is incense and why use it?

Incense is a fragrant material that releases its aroma as it burns. Used for centuries in various traditions, it is now appreciated for creating an atmosphere of relaxation, focus, or simply a sense of well-being at home.

Are all incenses the same?

No. Incense comes in many forms, with styles and techniques that vary across cultures.

Indian incense is often made on a bamboo stick and is known for its rich, expressive fragrances.

Tibetan incense is typically herbal, earthy, and made from aromatic plants.

Japanese incense is made without a bamboo core, allowing the fragrance to develop more purely. It is appreciated for its subtle, refined, and elegant aroma.

Each tradition has its own character and purpose.

Why does Japanese incense not contain a bamboo core?

Unlike many Indian incense sticks, Japanese incense is made without a bamboo core. This allows the fragrance to develop without the scent of burning bamboo, resulting in a cleaner, purer, and more
refined aromatic experience.

Is "natural" always better?

Not necessarily.

The term "natural" is not uniformly regulated. What matters most is the quality of the ingredients, how the incense is made, and the transparency provided by the manufacturer.

Is incense safe to use?

When used according to the instructions, in a well-ventilated room and in moderation, incense is intended to be enjoyed safely.

As with candles or essential oils, choosing reputable manufacturers that provide clear information about their products is recommended.

How is Nippon Kodo positioned regarding emissions?

Independent testing (DEPA, 2004) found that Nippon Kodo incense ranked among the products with the lowest overall emissions in the study.

Sharing this information helps consumers make informed choices for their indoor environment.

Is incense only for meditating?

Not at all.

Although incense has long been associated with meditation and spiritual practices, it can also
be part of everyday life. It can help to:

· Create a calming atmosphere after a busy day

· Improve concentration while reading or working

· Welcome guests with a subtle fragrance

· Add warmth and elegance to your home

When can incense be lit?

Japanese incense is appreciated for its subtlety. Rather than masking odors, it delicately complements everyday moments.

You can burn it:

· Before meditating or practicing yoga

· During a quiet moment, reading, or personal writing

· Before receiving guests

· Simply to create a moment of peace during the day

How to fully enjoy the Japanese incense experience?

To discover all the nuances of Japanese incense, try this simple practice:

1. Light an incense stick in a quiet room.

2. Leave the room for about 20 minutes.

3. Upon returning, appreciate the delicate fragrance that lingers in the air, rather than the smoke itself.

It is also an excellent way to experience your home as a visitor would.
