Made of 7 metals, the Full Moon singing bowl is a unique type of Tibetan singing bowl that is believed to hold special energetic qualities. The different metals and their planetary associations are Gold (Sun), Silver (Moon), Copper (Venus), Iron (Mars), Tin (Jupiter), Mercury (Mercury) and Lead (Saturn). The mantra of compassion Om Mani Padme Hum and the symbol of good fortune and longevity are engraved on the outside of this bowl, which is used during full moon ceremonies and other meditative practices.
As this bowl is hand hammered, the edge is not completely uniform, and you may find it difficult to make it sing at the beginning. Be patient, it is a matter of practice. We recommend you try hitting the bowl and sliding the wooden part of the mallet on the upper edge, varying the pressure and speed of the movement. Thanks to its thick wall, it produces a long-lasting vibration.

VIBRATION AND HARMONY
EXPERIENCE THE SOUND
EXPERIENCE THE SOUND
Each bowl produces a unique sound composed of a complex set of musical notes that give it richness and define its timbre, its sonic signature. The most traditional bowls, handcrafted by artisans, are made from an alloy of copper and other metals, sometimes called a “seven-metal alloy” according to tradition. Other modern models use an alloy of copper and zinc, known for its excellent acoustic qualities.
HOW TO HOLD IT?
The bowl should rest on a soft base such as your fingertips, the palm of your hand, or a cushion. Avoid holding the bowl while playing it, or the sound will be muffled.
HOW TO PLAY IT?
It is usually used like a bell, striking the upper rim or the outer side. If several bowls are played at the same time, the resulting vibration multiplies the sound effect.
HOW TO MAKE IT VIBRATE?
To make it vibrate, slide the mallet in circular motions around the outer upper rim, varying the pressure, speed, or the part of the mallet you use.
A HEALING VIBRATION
The bowls originated in the Himalayas more than 4,000 years ago. Their intense and prolonged vibration can be both heard and felt. The sensation is enhanced when they are brought close to the body, as they stimulate it to recreate its own harmonic frequency, releasing tension and unblocking energy in organs and meridians. The solar plexus, located at stomach level, is a very sensitive area often affected during times of stress. The vibration helps to release and relax it.
Tradition says that the sound of a struck bowl cleanses the environment of negative energies or emotional blockages and creates a moment of peace. Thich Nhat Hanh said: “Listening to the bell, I feel my afflictions begin to dissolve, my mind calms, my body relaxes. A smile appears on my lips. Following the sound of the bell, my breathing brings me back to the safe island of mindfulness.”
