The Magical Mystery Chimes are based on a musical phenomenon called octave doubling. How does it work? You probably know the Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do scale. The “Do” notes at the beginning and end of the scale are the same note, an octave apart. The notes that are separated by an octave are considered to be harmonically equivalent ; when they sound together, the music we obtain is really delightful. The Magical Mystery Chimes take this concept to the extreme as each note combines with its double octave. It’s the first time that this type of tuning is used to create wind chimes, in order to enhance harmonics and to get an amazing sound. You don’t believe it?
