Marble Sand for Incense Burner

Marble sand is used to nail and burn Japanese incense sticks. It can also be used as an isolating base when doing smudging rituals with plant bundles or palo santo. Simply poor it into your favourite incense burner, whether it is a ceramic or a cast iron one. If the marble sand gets dirty, you can clean it soaking in water and then filtering it with a fine mesh strainer.

Recommendation for Japanese incense
The traditional way of burning incense in Japan is by nailing the sticks into pressed rice ashes (ref. 92018): having no bamboo core, they will burn completely without leaving a trace.
