Kobunboku Sandalwood - 25 Sticks
This incense is a mixture of sandalwood fully spiced with cinnamon, clove, borneol, star anise and other medicinal herbs. It is a highly appreciated incense for Zen meditation because it generates harmony and mental clarity.
"Excellent Kobunboku" is perfect for the culture of the 21st century. It is elaborated uniting the ancient tradition and the modern investigation of perfumes. The fragrance increases its sweetness as it is consumed, refreshing body and mind, enveloping the spirit of peace and nurturing life. The plum blossom is known for its pleasant aroma and purity. Long ago in China, during the reign of Emperor Wu of Jin, the Plum Blossom tree planted in the palace court bloomed when the Emperor enjoyed literature, and wilted when the Emperor neglected literature, which led to nickname the plum tree "Kobunboku" as the tree that loves literature. "Ko" means "nice", "Bun" means "elegant", "Boku" means "wood" or "tree". Kobunboku refers to the "plum blossom", a very precious ingredient of Japanese incense, which is known as "the flower of peace". "Tokusen" means 'excellent'. The traditional aromas of the Kobunboku line are very popular in Japan.
The History of Baieido dates back to 1657 when Kakuemon Yamatoya opened a store of medicinal herbs and aromatic woods in Sakai. Since then, Baieido's experts travel all over the world in search of agarwood, sandalwood, resins, herbs, spices and other natural ingredients of the highest quality in order to make incense by using the same traditional formulas that are transmitted in secret from generation to generation.
